The budget for the LAPD was close to 3 billion dollars last year, while the emergency management departments got less than 100 million. Something is deeply, deeply skewed when it comes to our ideas to what actually stops crime and helps people vs what looks neat.

Don't go after the people who have the jobs, go after the people who make hiring undocumented immigrant labor so cheap and worthwhile.

You're always living through major historical events. These ones are just more seismic than we're used to in the 21st century.

And the billionaire owners are asking baseball players to take a pay cut, and are probably going to cancel the minor league season.

Reagan will go down as the most influential president of the late 20th century, that is for sure. His impact is still being felt and the Republicans want so badly to find a new Reagan that they elected Donald Trump.

Nah. He was still convicted of selling weapons but got immunity for testifying. There's a reason Iran-Contra was kept a secret and the Reagan administration did everything they could to sweep it under the rug.

My general is rule is, don't go out unless you're willing and able to pay the entire bill. Don't be petty, and if the other party is just looking for a free meal and you expect more, just take the L and move on.

I mean, nobody likes a tattle, and the vast majority of people are doing their best to keep themselves quarantined. It's the weird nutjobs that get airtime on TV that give everybody a bad name.

it's like the video of Rick Santorum Santoruming a mask by putting it on upside down and being absolutely committed to the bit despite a cop behind him whispering "that's not how you do it."

At least spell his name right. The Culkin-sanse has been amazing to see, and he's on two of my favorite podcasts.

Heh, I'm not sure my Ford Focus is all that bad ass, but I will replace it with "drives much better in the snow."

I try to only buy manuals because A) they're cheaper B) nobody knows how to drive them so they get stolen less and C) better gas mileage.

These are people in government who hate government, so they will do their best to make sure it does as little as possible and what it does do will be severely kneecapped.

I remember watching a thing about Metallica a long time ago and the guitar player was asked if they sold out. He said yes they sold out every time they play. I don't blame people for doing something for money, but I don't respect them when they pretend they aren't.

Being sick in this country is seen as a moral and ethical failing because sick people can't do what they're supposed to do.
