This makes me sad. I don’t understand why parents let themselves get so caught up in dogma that they can’t just love their children.

Probably, most people don’t need to have sex so bad that they need to put up with another human unwilling to be considerate of their needs.
We have to be partners to one another. That means sharing more than sex and chores. It means supporting one another emotionally. It means trying to be your best self for someone you want to share yourself with. And it means making compromises. Sometimes those things look like traditional gender roles and sometimes they don’t.
Sex dolls/toys aren’t a threat to someone who wants to be a partner. But if you think being a partner is about sex and chores, I can see why you might be threatened.

It’s funny to think of, because I always kept the door closed when I slept as a kid and my parents did too. But now, I keep the door open...

I used to have terrier mutt that couldn’t resist sticking her nose in every hole in the ground. One day, she came home with her face twice as swollen as this dog’s. She couldn’t hold her head up or even open her eyes. We were so afraid she would die!! But the vet just gave her antihistamine and said she would sleep it off. And sure enough, she was fine. A few months later, she has a clear snake bite on her nose, but doesn’t swell quite so much. She slept it off. Third time, she hardly swells at all. I guess eventually she became immune.
It’s been seven years since we lost Apple, and now I realize just how many snakes we have. She really took care of the creature population. Miss her; she was good dog. I guess they all are...

Depends on the denomination. Roman Catholic priests aren’t allowed to have sex. Episcopal priests are.

This is the first time I’ve ever *wanted* to do yoga!

And the longer your relationship, the more miraculous and meant-to-be people seem to think it is. Like, sure, we were made for each other, but also we have worked really hard to keep this relationship for so long.
