...I don’t think you actually read my comments. I agree with you 100% about western medicine. I work in a hospital. People make their own choices with regard to their treatments, and as a psychologist I’m sure you know that self determination is key when it comes to the success of patients’ course of care. In mine, and in the minds of most people I know who use and have been educated in and actually practice homeopathic medicine, these choices are based on a number of factors. I have no idea where you live, and I can’t imagine how upsetting it is to know and see what you have/do. I am fortunate enough to have been exposed to both types of medicine, and I have the right to treat my ailments how I like. Western medicine is magnificent, but it is not perfect. The same goes for homeopathy. I get vaccinated. I have c-sections. I encourage my patients to follow their md’s advice. But there are ways that western medicine has failed me and homeopathy has helped. Because it has saved my life.

It’s ok, no need to apologize. I work with neonatologists and pharmacists in a hospital who have been educated about it, and use homeopathy for themselves in their personal lives. I don’t claim to be educated in medicine, I’m and LMSW. But I do have bipolar disorder, diagnosed and treated by a psychiatrist, and then psychologist for years with little reduction of symptoms, and constant side effects from meds. Call it placebo if you’d like, but I’m living a life I never dreamed possible after watching multiple family members with the same diagnosis destroy every significant relationship they had. I spend way less money on homeopathy than I did on western treatment. I recognize that my story is merely anecdotal evidence, but in my specific personal experience, this shit works.

If you speak to medical professionals like physicians and pharmacists who were educated outside the US, most were educated about homeopathy alongside western med and recognize that it is the basis of modern pharmacology, and can be helpful in a lot of ways. Medicine doesn’t have to be mutually exclusive. I’ve treated my bipolar disorder for well over a decade with homeopathic medicine. Successfully. From 6-10 manic episodes and depressive per month to maybe one every few years. When the western meds made me sick. Western and non-western meds can work a long side one another.

There are a lot of factors that could contribute to the tragedy that you may not have encountered. The mockery is unnecessary, is all I’m saying

I hate the posts mocking this, they are clearly from people who are not parents. When you have a kid you operate on an entirely different plain of sleep deprivation and exhaustion. It’s horrific that this happens and it breaks my heart, but being a parent I understand how it could. Suggesting that parents take extra precautions is not a bad thing, especially if it can save a child.

You’re welcome. My dad has borderline personality disorder and was extremely volatile. I also have a number of family members with bipolar disorder, a lot of volatility there as well. I’m in my 30’s now and no longer have a relationship with my father. It was better for me to cut him out of my life rather than go on his rollercoaster. What’s frustrating is how infrequently people with bad behavior take responsibility for it. I also have bipolar disorder, but work my ass off every day to manage it because I never want to do to others what has been done to me. No one deserves to be abused. And no one has the right to abuse another. Family included. You deserve love and kindness and patience.

I’m so sorry you went through that. Some parents aren’t good at putting their children first all the time, and it sounds like maybe she is either in denial of it having happened, or maybe she even blocked it from her memory. In no way can a person be diagnosed based on a snippet of a story, but I have known people to have that kind of behavior who have mental health conditions. Whatever was going on, it wasn’t you who caused it, and you certainly didn’t deserve it. I won’t tell you things will get better with your mom, but things in life can get better, and your strength and coping will grow and expand.

I also broke the cycle of abuse. It took a lot of work and therapy. You can see how this theory has some logic to it: it’s true that children who grow up in abusive homes tend to have a heightened awareness of the emotions of those around them as a survival tactic. But that’s not quite what empathy is. It is also true that a lot of people in helping fields (in my case social work) have been through trauma and feel compelled to help others.

Lol I agree with you (12+ yes with my husband) but that’s not at all related to the post. Insinuating that the character’ motivations were all to attract a man is what we’re all discussing here. Not only is that incorrect per each of the stories, but it’s telling of perspectives of some, don’t you think? And if that’s what they are taking away from these stories, imagine what kind of confusion they may suffer when interacting with women in the wild.

And that warped perspective is why so many males believe females sole purpose and motivation is to please them.

Ummm, kind of whiny. As long as you take care of your responsibilities and dont hurt others, no one gives a shit what makes you happy as an adult aside from maybe your parents and that one judge mental ass hat from high school.

You’re forgetting that females aren’t a singular entity or stereotype; they’re actual individual people with their own thoughts and feelings who can share characteristics and reactions, sure, but generally have their own.

We put the lid down otherwise the cats play in the water. Everyone has to lift, everyone has to lower. Plus, you spray less fecal matter around the room when flushing if the lid is down.
