Yeah it was probably a mistake for me to watch this...I think it was a good show and I get why they were so graphic with it, but I've been out of high school and out of my bad situations for over 3 years now and it still f-ed me up for awhile..so if you are in a dark place right now I would not recommend it.

Candy doesnt know how to praise equality ; are you dumb :) 29 comments

Skittles are white if they are not dyed, because skittles are pure sugar. They are not the first candy company to use white as a "mystery color" because colors are always used to indicate flavor. That's it. It's candy, not some metaphor.

If someone looks like this they most likely are a tattoo artist themselves or have a job in a similar industry. Everyone always jokes about how they will be unemployed but only people extremely dense would do this and then realise they can't have a "normal" career.

What about those websites that don't give you the option of closing the popup that asks you to create an account/subscribe to emails.

Adopting kids of different colour 26 comments

That's true but a more extreme example. Obviously you can't avoid every possible conflict, especially in school with teenagers. But unfortunately people still stereotype by race and I'm sure growing up would be way easier if you had even just one friend at school who had similar experiences who could empathize with you. I'm not saying they are bad parents, but that's not the type of situation where you say "just deal with it, you'll be stronger in the end" either.

Adopting kids of different colour 26 comments

I know a non-white person who was adopted by a white couple as a baby and growing up they basically had an identity crisis, because we live in a super white area and they always felt ostracized and unaccepting of their own skin color. To the point of mental illness. So in some cases, yeah, maybe if you are going to have a diverse family you should think about the diversity in your community and the possibility of your ethnic child having friends they can relate to.

They would be brothers and cousins assuming there was zero variation in their dna. Each would have an aunt and uncle. But the aunt and uncle would be genetically the same as their parents. Making it technically possible for both children to come from either set of parents. Is that right?
