But then, most of the time when someone doesn't listen to the customers they fail miserably. The trick is to understand consumer needs better than the consumers do.

@everything: nothing is "no longer relevant." I think you're applying a Mosaic mindset to your analysis. Christianity isn't about following specified rules, and it sure as heck isn't about trying to find out what you can get away with now. It's about doing the right thing and following the spirit of the law, being freed from the demands of the letter of the law. But it's not easier or less strict -- to the contrary, Jesus raised the bar substantially. He just changed the thought process, back to the way it's supposed to be. Back to where God doesn't always have to explicitly tell you exactly what you should and shouldn't do.

All my votes go to a little place called Knynsa. Prettiest place on earth, if you ask me.

It's always more than a little ironic to see posts like this on a site like this.

I dunno... I think of you wasted that much of your life it's your fault too. If all that work really means nothing to you, you obviously weren't trying very hard.

That's the only way for the hero to get from level 8 to level 9 in the game. Obviously.

I feel bad for computer monitors. They always get the beating, but it's usually not their fault.

I'd be a zombie really early on. Then I'd be the first zombie to get his head cleaved off. It's a lose-lose situation, really.

I think some of the most important things you learn in school are the parts they don't actually teach you or test you on. Things like social skills, hard work, persistence, and dealing with peers and authorities you don't like. That's why I am personally opposed to skipping grades and to homeschooling, generally speaking.

Probably not a good idea if you don't want to lose your job. Just saying.

Not if it's not irrational. And simply disagreeing doesn't mean you "hate" either, so that doesn't always apply.

It's a stupid word though. "Phobias" are irrational fears. Simply disagreeing with something is neither inherently irrational nor a fear. The use of the word is usually just a way to help people feel justified in their own bigotry.

That kinda makes it sounds like the uterus is an essential part of the opinion-forming process. And here I thought that reason occurred in the brain...

I think the take-away message is that in life, there will be people who take advantage of you and wrong you. But you still have control over yourself, and don't let someone else's actions bring you down. There's nothing "right" about revenge -- the only way to get even with someone who has made a mistake is either to lift them back up or to lower yourself down to their level. Don't give anyone that control over you to bring you down. That's where Kane messed up -- he told himself that his standards of behavior can change with the situation. But if that's true, they're not really "standards" at all.

I'm with you, ricepudding. And to the above comment that there is a difference between being immature and being an a**hole: No, there's not. That's pretty much exactly the same thing.
What has the world come to when we look UP to people for behaving like scum? Gone are the days of chivalry and compassion, I suppose. May as well just bring on WW3 right now.

I'm like that too. I'm great one-on-one, but don't fit into groups very well.
