Yup. We did a great big west coast rocky mountain trip. Day one: Houston to Amarillo. 12 hrs. Only half way through day 2 did we get to New Mexico.

Kinda the climate would be similar. High altitude but thats the thing. Afghanistan or at least where the violence is is crazy mountainous. Very hostile environment without the Taliban. But NOT a flat desert. Iraq is pretty deserty in places but can get pretty woodsy especially by either the tigris or Euphrates. Sparse vegetation but not like the Sahara.

The distance from the east border to El Paso is the same from El Paso to Los Angeles

We literally had a deal 2 days before and then Donalds supporters threw a hissy fit about the damn wall and he slapped it back on the table. I LIVE IN TEXAS a border state and ive worked with illegal aliens. Hard working bunch. A wall is not the answer nor should it be who we are as a people were better than that. Both sides are using rhetoric entirely based in fear. Freedom dies in darkness. A darkness caused by the shadow of fear.

Every day that this continues confirms that neither side cares about us. They only care about thwarting the infamous "THEM". They dont care about our people they care about rhetoric and votes.

They do actually. If you have a really nice dinner table like my family does (its 100 yrs old). It helps preserve and protect the surface from damage like from knives, spilt wine and small children.
