I've never been blackout drunk even once and only a few times to the point where I shouldn't be driving or had hard time walking straight but even in those times I didnt do something that would be so out of character like I maybe was goofy and didn't have the best decision making but I was still of sound mind if any of that makes sense so I guess I can't relate to people using that as an excuse
