We have reusable grocery bags because we are trying to be environmentally conscious. We do use bags like this for trash if we happen to have them. I think this has very little to to with wealth and a lot to do with priorities in our case.

Especially because a majority of illegal immigrants came to the country legally, and then stayed after their green card expired. And immigrants who come illegally often do so by hiding in vehicles that are going through legal border checks. You just can't check every car throughly, the lines are already ridiculous.

Sure. But illnesses and infections are contagious. So not getting proper medical treatment does actually endanger others. Maybe not as immediately as a fire does, but still.

So, maybe the kid in the post is an asshole, I don't know them. But I do know that parents are also assholes. And there is nothing wrong with not wanting to see a movie you don't like the genre of. Because "Of course you will" is the only part of this that is quoted, we don't have a good picture of how this conversation went.
It could have gone
"Annon, come this movie with us," mom offfered.
"No thanks Mom, I don't like superhero movies."
"You never like any movies that are out. " Mom complains.
"I'll see the joker movie when it comes out."
Mom, annoyed "Of course you will."
Kid, internally 'what did I do?'
Or it could have been
"Hey annon, do you want to join us for this movie."
"No Mom, I don't like super hero movies. " <with attitude >
"Come on annon, you never want go go see movies with us."
"You don't ever want to watch MY movies. I'll go see Joker."
Mom <frustrated > "Of course you will."
See how one is clearly asshole kid, the other is clearly asshole parent.

1. Rent/mortgage subsidization will make homelessness a rare problem. I expect these subsidization should cover an effencicy apparent just about anywhere. (Obviously some property values are higher, but it should at least cover apartments of this size in at least part of most cities in each state) In places where homelessness is still a problem, the government should build efficiency apartments for rent.
2. Life can't easily leave you with nothing. Certainly you can still encounter financial hardship, but you'll always have something.
3. The fact that you don't strictly speaking need an income to survive will allow workers far more power in negotiating wages and working conditions. Which will promote healthier work environments.

Even Wealthy McHidesHisMoneyOffShores should get food stamps that could feed him, and a certain amount of money that can go towards paying his mortgage or house insurance. And some amount of money that can be spent on whatever needs arise.
And taxes should just be high enough across the board, a percentage income tax no matter how much money you make. Obviously government aid is not taxed.
So your tax dollars don't go to programs you don't benefit from, even if you do lose money. And making more money will never result in less aid, nor will not working actually result in more aid. Children should not increase the amount given for more than two children, however services should be available to help children. (For example, school lunch should just always be provided by the government. )
I know this isn't perfect, but it's better than the system we have now for a couple reasons.

While some people definitely abuse the system, it isn't the majority on a country wide level.
Also, as guest eluded to, part of the problem is that the system actually encourages people to never get off the system. A lot of this is actually that government assistance does not go away is small enough increments. If making only $325 a month qualifies you for enough aid to get by, but $350 a month means you get $100 less a month in various forms of government aid, you aren't going to ever work towards bringing in more money. Even though if you lost aid slowly you could probably work yourself up to the point you didn't need it.
Also- unpopular opinion here: everyone should actually receive government aid. Every citizen of the United States should get a certain amount in food stamps and a certain amount in housing assistance and a certain amount for various other things like toiletries and transportation. And those amounts should be livable on. Not luxuriously, but livable.

No, it probably isn't a safe assumption. Some people who feel this way also feel that if you aren't ready for children you shouldn't be having sex.

It's all good. It gave me a good reason to explain for anyone who may not know what median means. :)

Nope. Median =/= the number exactly in the middle of the highest and lowest. Median is if you list every outcome in order from highest to lowest, what number is in the middle.
For example; 0,1, 1, 1, 3, 4, 5, 5, 9, 12, 14
The median of this set of numbers is 4.
4=/=7
Which means it could be using median correctly. Because their are so many people making lower incomes, but very few people who are extremely wealthy.
That being said @bethorien pointed out, its unlikely that the graph is a fair representation of the truth.

This is actually one of my least favorite memes. Usually it's used to demonize people who are just living their lives in a way that's counter culture. I've seen it be used well, I just feel like it often is used for uncalled for hate.

Eh, you get it. In the first game you can avoid the first boss for a bit, and it's not that hard to fight him as long as you manage to land your drop attack. You are already hallowed when you start, so it doesn't really matter how many times you die, you aren't losing much.
The third one is a bit trickier to start, but still totally doable. It really doesn't matter if you die, because all you lose is souls, and until you beat the boss your souls are pretty pithy. Use the tutorial enemies to get a feel for the controls. Fight the boss. You'll get him eventually. If you are a pyromancer save your fire ball until you've weakened him some, they are more valuable in the second half. Your axe is valid. This boss is completely dodgable if you time it right also. It's not how I chose to start off, but I've seen people wear heavy armor and let him hit them at a certain point in his attack in order to get a good hit on him. In any case its completely doable.

Yeah, we have pickles in the Midwest, and people definitely eat them by themselves. But eating a pickle at a movie is just weird. And drinking pickle juice sounds awful.

I don't think you'd likely be less depressed for your life going badly. That being said I do completely understand how frustrating it can be to want to fix something but you are the only thing wrong.
The problem is, if things are also going badly in your life, you often find you lack the motivation to fix them. Because depression.
I hope you're able to cope well and be happy. :)

There is a very real possibility that you live in a place with better opportunities. You may have picked up more useful job skills along the way. The truth is the worst thing I ever did for my ability to get a job was stop working for a while. I needed it for my mental health, but finding a job with gaps in your work history is hard.
Also, and this is important: Racism and Sexism definitely still exist in the work place. If you are an urban white male with no criminal record there is a good chance you can find a job, but the same does not apply if you are a black woman in a little town in the sticks. Not if that town is primarily white people.
And not of that accounts for the many many disorders that make getting a job harder.
