The difference after tax may be small but it would probably work out at around $150 a year in your pocket. Plus (and I can't stress this strongly enough) FREE HEALTHCARE AT THE POINT OF CONTACT! The govt is, quite sensibly, asking companies to pay a wage that allows someone on minimum wage to contribute to the social security of the nation. High tax is only an issue if companies are not required to pay a living wage. Legislating for that means that companies (via staff wages) will end up paying into the country they are making profit in.

If it's watertight it's going to be airtight. Just make sure you submerge it without tipping it and you trap a boatfull of air. Of course keeping it underwater would be tricky as it would be rather buoyant.

It's a pretty cool concept but can you imagine the effort required to get the damn thing moving! The gearing ratio looks like it's 1:1 and as whospikedthepunch said, God help you if your foot slips off the pedal whilst you are moving, it will take your leg off!

One of my GCSE students burst out laughing when he opened his results a couple of years ago. The first 5 subjects spelled FUDGE. Needless to say he wasn't the sharpest tool in the box.

Some people also need to learn the difference between a Sikh, a Muslim and a nutter. It actually pains me to hear people talking about religion when it has nothing to do with religion. They aren't fundamentalists they are psychopaths.
