Manspreading is problem 18 comments

What kind of contribution are you looking for? Mother Teresa?
.
i mean, there's the obvious Katherine Johnson and her contributions to NASA, along with the other "hidden figures."
.
Stephanie Kwolek, who invented Kevlar. Albeit by accident, but that's the same way we got gravity so hardly a sticking point.
.
Josephine Cochrane who invented the dishwasher (let's save the jokes - I guarantee they've all been made before).
.
Tabitha Babbit who may have invented the circular saw. Did invent false teeth.
.
Maria Beasley, who invented a few things but most notably the life raft.
.
J K Rowling who wrote Harry Potter, easily one of the most well known and influential works of the same couple decades
.
Khatoon Khider, a singer who formed an all female militia called Daughters of the Sun to help fight ISIS

Ahh yes. Because, as we all know, the manspreading chair has been the one and only contribution by the entire female population in the history of ever >.>

Perhaps. It comes from all over. Doesn't change that it's a thing that happens regardless of where it comes from

Bras are SO bloody uncomfortable. Elastic and straps and undermines. Ugh. I do agree girls have a much better selection that guys.. Though they also tend to be judged harder on what they wear

@aviva mostly based off the ones I've talked to. But then I'm hardly innocent in that regard
.
and don't worry about replying late - we know you're going through a lot (if that anecdote didn't make it obvious). Your aunt is a crazy harpy who is jealous and bitter and takes it out on you. I've known people who deliberately do everything they can to undermine other peoples' confidence and it has life long effects if you listen. I know it's not easy but try to remember EVERYTHING your aunt says about you, everything she does, comes from a twisted place of hate. It's not based in reality and not a reflection on you. You could have been wearing the most appropriate outfit in existence and looked like a model and she would have found a reason to pick you apart because SHE is a cruel, empty shell of a human with nothing but vitriol to offer.
.
Don't take it to heart, darling aviva. You're already a more beautiful, brilliant person than she can ever hope to be

According to some website called politifact:
.
"This is not accurate. While McCarthy did say that violent video games dehumanize players and can be a factor in mass shootings, he never mentioned that in the context of Japan. We don’t find anything close to this quote in his Aug. 4 appearance on Fox News’ show "Sunday Morning Futures."
.
At one point, McCarthy responded to a question from host Maria Bartiromo about the role video games play in violent behavior. (Read our fact-check about research disproving such a link.)
.
"The idea that these video games that dehumanize individuals to have a game of shooting individuals and others ... I’ve always felt that is a problem for future generations and others," McCarthy responded. "We’ve watched from studies shown before of what it does to individuals. When you look at these photos of how it took place, you can see the actions within video games and others." "

How the USA gonna deal with mass shootings 17 comments
xvarnah · 4 years ago
@famousone in a military scenario absolutely. In a civilian scenario I disagree that there's any real reason Joe Shmoe would need to kill that many people that quickly. A normal gun should be more than sufficient for day to day gun range activity, protection, and hunting. Not that people don't still manage mass shootings with regular guns, but it does take a smidge more effort.
.
@scatmandingo my brain more conjured the imagery of someone literally just throwing the empty gun at a person and trying to whack them in the head haha.
