Oldie but still a good one. Usually try and space these posts out a lot farther, but it feels like there's a lot of people hurting right now.
.
So, as always, for anyone who needed to hear this today

Lyrics:
Welcome to the planet
Welcome to existence
Everyone's here
Everyone's here
.
Everybody's watching you now
Everybody waits for you now
What happens next?
What happens next?
.
[Chorus]
I dare you to move
I dare you to move
I dare you to lift yourself up off the floor
I dare you to move
I dare you to move
Like today never happened
Today never happened before
.
Welcome to the fallout
Welcome to resistance
The tension is here
Tension is here
.
Between who you are and who you could be
Between how it is and how it should be
Yeah
.
[Chorus]
.
Maybe Redemption Has Stories To tell
Maybe forgiveness is right where you fell
Where can you run to escape from yourself?
Where you gonna go?
Where you gonna go?
Salvation is here
.
I dare you to move
I dare you to move
I dare you to lift yourself
Lift yourself up off the floor
I dare you to move
I dare you to move
Like today never happened
Today never happened
Today never happened
.
Today never happened before

Upvoting because the image of Aragorn charging in to take on the armies of mordor armed with a leafy stick is hilarious to my sleep-deprived brain

In like 9 months, maybe. Idk, the snow hasn't even melted here yet. But it's all been pretty okay weather so far. Like Canada during the fall, which isn't even as bad as people expect it to be. So long as you have a sweater or something comfortable to wear.

They also have "This Is Happening," which is their current YouTube apparently.
.
But yeah, they have been doing their very best to extort money from Youtubers doing reaction videos to clips they've licenced it seems.
.
The most bizarre part is I'm pretty sure the people who made the videos/photos to begin with have a license to them by default. They're not required to get a "copyright."

She's got a mediocre voice at best imo as far as singers go. Nothing particularly noteworthy. Same goes for most of the lyrics I've seen from her
.
Most of the songs I've heard from her are either about how much she loves the guy she with and will do anything (nice or sexual) for him, OR about how men are scum, don't appreciate, and women are the best thing since spliced genes

I don't know if she's a gold-digger or not. But she definitely likes attention and I think she didn't realize that being a duchess requires very specific behaviour and gets you VERY specific attention. And lots of it.
.
The more I see her the more I get the impression she thought she'd be able to use this as some a platform to make her political statements, and post to her Instagram and stuff, and now she's realizing that's not the way royalty works

I assume all of us assume we annoy at least a few other users. You don't annoy me as far as I've noticed?
.
I assume part of the reason we can be a close community is because it's so small

This is largely found in ostriches raised on ostrich farms BY humans iirc. The ostriches socialize and become familiar with humans and learn to view them as providers of food etc. Iirc wild ostriches are FAR less likely to engage in any kind of attempts to seduce us

Given the low frequency of user-generated content, I assume a lot of people who complain about the bots would actually secretly be even more unhappy if the bots disappeared altogether

I understand what cultural appropriation is. I'm saying not everything everyone screams about just because it's popular to them is cultural appropriation. Including hairstyles. And straight hair has been extremely influential in "white culture." It was never an exclusively white hairstyle, but it sure is popular among them. Much like dreadlocks. And what's good for the goose is good for the gander.
.
I guarantee most people wearing dreadlocks regardless of skin color are not doing it because it's part of their culture. They're doing it because they like them.
.
If dreadlocks are important to culture, but someone who happens to be black wears them without giving a fuck about that culture, and that's NOT cultural appropriation, then screaming it IS cultural appropriation when other people of OTHER skin colors do it is not only hypocrisy, it's racism.
