Those idiots waving flags are not actual fucking Nazis and have been around for decades. The media is simply paying more attention to them in an attempt to link them to Trump.

Poor thing. Everyone before you has had it easy, so very easy. People expect you to work, put forth some kind of effort - it's just so unfair. Everyone else just had things handed to them, but not you, no. They actually expect you to do stuff! So terribly unfair.

So you expect stores to sell pets that shelters and pounds can't give away? That's some real good thinking you did there, California. I'm sure the family that had their hearts set on a pure bred Golden Retriever will settle for that weird corgi-dachshund-beagle science experiment that somehow pees nonstop.

Teaching Knife defense...With an unruly student 16 comments

Slow motion or not, he completely ignored the hand with the knife in it. Getting close to someone with a knife and leaving the hand with the knife completely free is a bad idea, as demonstrated by the assistant. A friend of mine had someone pull a knife on him at a party. He got cut across the face, stabbed in the back of his shoulder, and stabbed in the lower back before anyone even realized what was going on. The whole thing was over in under 3 seconds. Even at full speed that guy would have been stabbed multiple times.

So teachers aren't doing their jobs to the best of their abilities because they aren't overpaid? That doesn't seem right. Education is a two way street. The best teachers in the world can't do anything with students more interested in coming up with clever shit to post on Twitter than actually learning something.

You do realize this didn't actually happen, right? This is just a story. There are several variations of it floating around. Several of the more popular ones feature Nikola Tesla marking an X in chalk in different locations for different reasons.

Since dogs can't read or understand the concept of headstones, I'm guessing the stone is either warmer or cooler than the grass, that's why the dog is laying on it.

Not really. He has no problem keeping track of, seeing the kids, but they somehow can't see or hear him running around. He can see them pointing at a house near him, but they're completely oblivious to his presence, even when he walks up onto the deck of house they were just focusing on. Then, he somehow knows there's not only a chair on the deck before going onto it, but he knows the kids can't see him or the chair. The story just doesn't make sense.

It depends on the situation. If you're pissing, whining, moaning, and sniveling about something very minor or something that everyone has to deal with, then your experience is invalid. If you simply make a statement about how something hurt or how something sucks and you get "That's nothing. I..." in response, then, yeah, the whole one-upmanship thing gets annoying.

Part joke, part urban legend. I heard this for the first time back in 1995. Since then I've heard at least a dozen different iterations of it.

The real problem is most of people don't admire him. They admire an idealized version of him they fabricated in their own minds. They give him credit for things he didn't do, completely ignore his shortcomings (he's really not that smart), and come unhinged when any criticism is leveled against him or one of his projects. The thing that really gets me is the technical aspects of projects get completely overshadowed by his publicity stunts. People seem to admire the publicity stunts more than any technical accomplishments, though. I guess it's not much different than the Kardashians.

Where are you guys getting these handwritten prescriptions from these days? They're either sent directly to the pharmacy or, if you don't know what pharmacy you want to use, it's a computer print out. Some places have outright outlawed prescription pads the last few years.

Space X launched a satellite and a car into space. It has a long way to go before it starts approaching NASA's achievements. Let's bring the Elon Musk cheer leading down a little, at least to realistic levels. The guy's just a walking PR stunt, nothing more.

It's a PR stunt. Everything this guy says and does is for publicity. Even when he or one of his companies does something interesting he has to twist it into some stupid PR, publicity stunt that ends up overshadowing what was actually accomplished.

Tax forms come with instructions. If that's too much for you, there is software out now that will hold your precious little hand through the whole process. Unfortunately, there are no participation medals or stickers at the end, so you may need to find a safe space to rebuild your fragile self esteem once you've completely your taxes.

I've noticed people claiming to argue facts are generally the ones that rely heavily on logic fallacies. They also tend to be a bit pretentious.
