Unoriginal "I Can't Think of a Title" Title 45 comments

THIS IS THE CONSEQUENCE OF THE "NEVER JUDGE ANYONE" MENTALITY. If you used that to insist that people celebrate homosexuality and all the other things that you're OK with, you've also argued for pedophilia and incest, and necrophilia as well.

Can't helpbut notice all the democrats who used to be for border security but now want open borders.

It's similar when a pro-life pro-firearms democrat from a state that reflects those beliefs goes national, and suddenly becomes pro-choice to the point of voting against saving the life of an already-born baby, and becomes anti-firearms rights to a crazy extent. I done mean being for registering firearms or requiring background checks, but getting all foaming at the mouth to confiscate firearms from legal owners.

I have NEVER understood the need to insult or denigrate a girl or woman who merely said "no thanks" to a drink, or dance, or conversation. Besides just "common decency," why make yourself look like an ass to bystanders? Plus, maybe one of her friends is nice, but not to guys whose response to "no thanks" is an insult.

If her answer to "care to dance" is "Ewww...not with *you*" that's different, but my experience is that's less than 10%.

On their first date, she answers the door to see a man with no arms or legs.
"What do you think you can do without arms and legs?" she asked.
His reply: "I rang the doorbell, didn't I?"

Interesting instance in the book "Getting To Yes" which is about negotiating. Jimmy Carter famously said he's never use nukes against the Soviets, so they were able to push him around in negotiations because he'd reduced his options without getting anything in return. Even the threat of nuclear retaliation back after the USSR had first used nukes would've gone back on what he said. Better to leave all your options open and then negotiate them away _while getting something in return_.
Hell, maybe it's even better for the US for its adversaries to worry that its president may be willing to do things other presidents wouldn't.

Maybe one solace is that even when one decade's prospects for something--earnings, job prospects, home ownership, investment returns--are stacked against you ON AVERAGE, there are plenty of people who do well for themselves by getting to work and making the most of what they have rather than dwelling on what they don't have or what takes a little more effort than for another group of people.

Also, when I needed to fix something on my car or house, I went to the library to look at a book (possibly outdated) to learn how to fix or update the thing. Then, I went to the store and paid list price or ordered from a toll free number and waited six weeks for the whatever to arrive. Now, I go online and someone has kindly posted a video showing exactly what I need to know, and ordering online means the item will arrive in about two days...and I'll pay half of what I used to. The last time I bought a car, I got several dealers to send me their best price via email, and went to buy w/o hassle

Also, cribs used to have slats a little farther apart than they are allowe to now, which led to a few strangling deaths. Most of us survived, but for a few families it was tragic. So, "my baby is using my old crib" might sound cute, but could be a bad idea. Same with toys...we,know more now than we did then. The first two things I noticed were those choking hazard eyes and that choking/strangling hazard neck ribbon. There's a high chance that nothing would go wrong, but the consequences are huge in a few cases.

If there's equal opportunity, there'll always be large inequalities in outcomes. Part of that is due to random chance & statistical distribution, but also a large part is due to effort.

Where did Jesus promise to get rid of wicked people?

I mean, people take biblical stuff out of context all the time to support a view that they already wanted to believe, but this is really mistaken.

Well, murdering 6 million people and bringing nearly the entire world into a war is equal to a president who won't do all the stuff you want, like pay for inefficient government programs to transfer wealth from some people that you don't think deserve it to others that you feel deserve it more, allowing you to feel good about causes that you are "for" but don't actually comtribute to monetarily or with time volunteering.

Adolf Hitler on Christianity:
“Christianity is a rebellion against natural law, a protest against nature. Taken to its logical extreme, Christianity would mean the systematic cultivation of the human failure.”
“The reason why the ancient world was so pure, light and serene was that it knew nothing of the two great scourges : the pox and Christianity.”

Great example of a Christian, OP.

That's the thing--if you judge people for "cultural appropriation" and whateverphobia for every damn thing that regular people do, you're going to get it back from someone more extreme than you, and feels more compulsion to "defend" a group that he/she/whatever isn't even a part of.

"You could be something that doesn't even exist yet..."

I find that pretty profound. We didn't use to have 3D printing experts or,social media advertising specialists. A generation ago engineers didn't design computer parts, wireless routers or cell phones or cell phone towers/networks. Grandpa grandpa didn't have peers who were rocket scientists or even overnight delivery expedites because FedEx etc. didn't exist. It's weird to think about the jobs there'll be in 20 years that don't exist now, or at least are extremely rare.
