I know, right? Why do people even smoke or do drugs when good food exists? And it's so much easier to lose extra weight from chocolates than get rid of an addiction. (At least I think so, I've never been addicted to anything)

Not as much as with humans who we mate with, but we still keep cats (or dogs for that matter) as companions and I think it does apply here as well, even though not as strongly as with humans.

Agreed, thethirdi. I don't think it looks cute at all and see no reason why would a thing with a genetic disease seem cute since we're naturally programmed to be repulsed by them in both animals and humans, for a "cleaner" gene pool. I feel pity for the cat, yes, but I don't think it looks cute.
