Me and my best friends are just totally okay with holding hands while watching LOTR because of how cute Aragorn is, fixing each other's swimsuit when it gets tangled etc etc. It's more ok for girls than for guys I guess, but then again it's not always without consequences. Once I was at a music festival/concert with my friend. We're not very touchy-huggy people so we didn't even high five, hug or basically anything. However, a guy asked us for a drink, and when we declined because he was obviously already drunk and also very sleazy and annoying, he immediately assumed we're lesbians. It's funny how some people's ego makes them see things that aren't there instead of accepting the truth.

Have you ever like went outside and met an actual human being? Most of them don't even think about things. Thinking about things you read or hear instead of instantly believing them is almost a sign of breaking the instinct.

"Kind of people"? Do you, like, not know that the herd instinct exists? Individuals often start to believe what the rest believes, or at least pretend to even though they may disagree because it makes them a part of society. Dismissing this obvious fact, you may as well still believe in creation theory.
