Yes! Thank you. Too many people blaming feminism in the comments when feminists are actually trying to solve these issues.

"Feminist bias" yeahhhhh bs. 4/7 of these problems are things feminists regularly talk about and insist we as a society should focus on. I used to be an anti-feminist but academic feminism is really something vastly different than the screaming pink haired high schoolers you see on Twitter. Feminists care deeply about issues concerning men, specifically those that rose out of strict gender roles such as the tiny likelihood of men to seek help when they've been raped, abused or when they have mental health issues. These problems stem out of the stereotype that men should always be strong and can't seek help or show emotions. Feminists care, guys. Don't discard the whole movement because there are some bad apples. I don't discard MRAs because there are some MGTOWs and incels in the movement either, and actually feminism and MRA have a lot of common goals.

Ha, no probs, I'm not a native speaker PLUS I tend to explain in such length that people get lost so I get you for not getting it the first time, haha.

I mean yeah but the double standard is that the author of the tweet says men shouldn't be held responsible for something they can't control (dick size) but women should be held responsible for something we can't control (smell). Neither of us can control it, I mean women can try to but there's a high risk of health problems which usually come with extra odors of their own so by trying to control it vigorously, you get an infection and set yourself to step one. That's where I see the double standard. Men can also technically try to make their dick bigger but afaik the method is usually some blood pressure medication which is also a health hazard. So let's just not hold anyone responsible for this, as long as you have basic hygiene and are in good health, that's all that matters.

Then again when it comes to fast fashion and buying from places like Wish or AliExpress, I find it to be mainly the domain of middle aged soccer mom types rather than young people. But again, just my experience, I'm not trying to pass this off as any kind of evidence of anything.

Sewing on a button and making small repairs to your clothing is easy, I've done it since I was 10. I suspect the title of the original article is highly misleading because from my observations, many young people are sick of the Boomer consumerism on overdrive and as we realize that most stuff on the market is made by Bangladeshi and Chinese kids, we look for more ethical ways to get our clothing. Some people take courses to be able to make their own clothing, some go for ethical brands, some (like myself) buy clothes mainly from thrift stores.
I'm not saying we're all super woke or anything, in fact fast fashion is definitely a problem that maybe not even the boomers had, but my 70 year old grandma and most of her friends could never sew beyond reinforcing buttons. Same with my parents, my mom can do small repairs but that's it, when it comes to a lot of "crafting" I'm the most proficient one in my family. But that's just my personal experience, so feel free to share yours.

But doesn't that mean that "thots" would have an excuse for wearing so little clothing, since it's hot in hell?

Yeahhhh that's bs. Vaginas have specific microflora that keep the pH at a certain level. Douching, perfuming etc. can disturb that balance and give you yeast syndrome or bacterial vaginosis. Some people's vaginas are so sensitive that they can get health problems just from wearing non-cotton underwear. So yeah, double standard. Not to mention, dicks smell too and men tend to want oral more often than women. Or at least that's how the stereotype goes. Both me and my boyfriend don't really care much about it.

I saw Split, then a friend told me it's a sequel (ish) to Unbreakable so I watched that, and now I'm really excited for Glass. I hope it's good, Shyamalan has had a not so good reputation recently.

Nah, I think the whole "women do this but men don't" is just self-fulfilling prophecy and confirmation bias. People of every gender do this.

That.... honestly just sounds like a joke. If it was real, the person in question would probably embellish and wouldn't mention he's a trustworthy guy who doesn't accept money.

My high school classmates once tried this with a shopping cart from a nearby supermarket. They wouldn't serve them though.

You're right about the institutionalized thing. I'm not a native speaker so I thought institutionalized meant "by law" and then I googled it and realized it actually means "by practice or custom". So I learned something! Yay!

While the first person is framing it badly, the racial wealth gap is a thing in the US. Check out some articles on big American cities' history, for example LA still has huge problems because of past segregation. Basically the problem is that the segregation used to be racial and non-white areas were neglected, underserved, with no opportunities for growth. Institutionalized racism has since been mostly eradicated in itself, but these areas still remain poor, underserved, and with very little social mobility. So while this is more of a class problem than a racial one, race does play a role for historical reasons. Seriously, Google that stuff, I'm not very good at explaining (and it's also midnight where I live and I just had an exam today so I'm exhausted) so you'll probably get more clarity our of articles. I think I first stumbled upon this topic when I researched the history of LA and its Hispanic minority, maybe you'll even find the same articles I did back then.
