Laundry police! Open up, we have a warrant! 13 comments

A piece of clothing can only ever mess up your laundry load on its first wash cycle since brand new clothing tends to bleed dye. And even then it might not happen when you wash it in cold water. However washing everything together will make the colors duller overtime. The whites and the blacks will become grey and the colors will just be dull. I personally separate blacks from everything because most of my clothing is black so I can just wash it all together to stop the color from fading so much. Obviously it's gonna fade in time no matter what you do but you can try to slow it down.
Also, fabric softeners don't work AND they're really bad for the environment, putting in a 1:1 mixture of water and vinegar (with maybe some drops of essential oils if you want it to smell good, don't worry it won't smell like vinegar anyway) will help preserve the colors better than softener.

Look I don't wanna sound unsympathetic to the plight of the African peoples of which I don't know much about, but I think it'd be much more fruitful to get an ancestry test and reclaim one's cultural/ethnic identity than to complain about a thing that happened centuries ago.
The note says West Africans so he probably has a general idea already. And if you wanna say "well he's not in contact with his ancestors and he'd be an outsider to the identity he'd try to reclaim", aren't we all? Culture, ethnicity, nation, they're all made up concepts that we're socialized into. It's never too late to rediscover it if you want to. But don't just put on rose-colored glasses and jump in, that's how nationalism starts, there are good and bad parts to every culture's history, so if you wanna get really engaged, study it too.

Well, some people's stench can be pretty violent at gaming events. To the point some of them place signs that you should shower before attending.

Dust, yeah. And cat hair. Water spots not so sure. But that's in my experience the case with clothing, I'm not sure a brick wall would have the same attributes in that sense.

Painting the inside all black would be impractical as hell. Not having any color variation inside (meaning, one color for everything including furniture) would be impractical because it'd blend together and it'd be hard to find anything. That's not a thing for the outside. So I don't think it's entirely fair to compare the inside and outside. The outside of a building is usually a uniform color. Going minimalist black on the outside doesn't seem as bad as going one color on the inside. Plus it can insulate in winter and dirt doesn't show up as much as on lighter buildings.

You can wear all black without being emo/goth. Black is very elegant, in fact. I wear black minimalist stuff and I don't think I look emo at all.
I'm surprised, I truly didn't expect the "black = emo phase" mindset of someone who's able to use the internet, it's usually shared by people who are over 70 years old and hate any tiny sliver of non-conformity.
But yeah fuck Kat Von D.

Yeah if your ideology leads you to believe that your only role in life is to be a decoration and a birthing machine, then yeah you're gonna spend more time on your looks.
But it's still not true in my experience, you can't cover everything with makeup.

Might not be the best time for a vacation, actually 18 comments
ewqua · 5 years ago
Tbh asking for a vacation just one week prior is pretty inconsiderate to the colleagues who will have to fill in for you as they might've had other plans already. It's much better to ask a few weeks or a month in advance.
However judging from the conversation, it looks like maybe they decide on the spot, seeing as the boss gets to decide if it's a good time or not. Maybe that's how it works over there. Also clearly the boss has been refusing to give this person a vacation to the point they were willing to quit rather than come to work for one more day, so I'm not feeling bad for him/her. I am feeling bad for the co-workers who will have to compensate for the absence, though.

Blame the clothing, misogyny says 10 comments

I mean, Google him and you'll know. He used to be a misogynistic pick up artist, he kept records of all women he's slept with (wrote books about it too) and argued that rape is fine, among other atrocious things. Then he converted to Jesusism and turned into a bonkers fundamentalist and now he's equally misogynistic but he's all about no sex before marriage.
What a personal journey that must've been. I'm sure he did a lot of soul searching to turn from a slutty misogynist to a sexless misogynist.

Also did we all forget 19th century dresses that were made to emphasize the size of your butt? Or corsets made to reduce your waist?
Dresses were traditionally made to compliment a feminine figure. If he wanted to rant about people oversexualizing themselves or something, dresses would be the logical place to start.
But of course, he's Roosh V, he doesn't have a principled, nuanced argument about over sexualization, he just wants to return to the 50s and have a slave-wife.
(Side note: not that I think there even is an argument to be made about sexualization in terms of people's everyday attire in the first place. In terms of culture and media there is, we all know that sex sells better than good art, but not for the average Jane who just wants to wear pants without being yapped at by neckbeards)
