That's what the biggest criticisms said too, because in the shooters manifesto he said he wanted gun control to happen. But in truth, it's not the case. Many people were actually in support of the buyback (gun-owners as well as non-owners) but there were definitely a vocal minority screeching about their rights (despite the fact that we don't have a right to bear arms).

Whilst we did have a gun buyback scheme after the events of March 15th, it was more effective. In my opinion it was too reactionary which is one of my biggest critiques of Ardern .
