Except...........near public nudity and sending a message to all the once Hannah Montana fans that it's a great idea to go through life partying, drinking, and probably being high.
Moral of the story:
She's made SOOO many bad decisions that pisses and disturbs many. Even when she was younger i didn't like her. She turned into a major slut and is gross. Its not about gping out. Its about where you go and what you do. Also you can't twerk if your life depended on it. *rolls eyes. Now kindly walk on over the pit of doom.
She's a grown ass woman who can do whatever the hell she wants. Think she's a little too provocative? Don't watch her. Don't like her songs? Don't listen to them. There's nothing wrong with her showing of her body if she wants to. What kind of message does it send if everyone calls her a whore or a slut just for showing herself a bit? That teaches people that it's not okay to love your body, that you have to hide it to be decent to others. That's wrong. People, including her, can do whatever they want with themselves. And it's not like she's doing drugs. Even if she is, she's not making a show of it. People worry that little girls will copy her but I doubt they will. With all this talk shaming her behavior, why would they want to? But no one has a right to tell her what to do. Just because you don't like it doesn't make it wrong.
I disagree, I think it teaches the opposite. Granted, I didn't watch her VMA performance, and I don't plan to, but from what I've seen/heard about it, I don't see how that has anything to do with "loving your body." To me, it sounds more like "my body is a sex toy." To me, loving your body means respecting it.
Besides, I don't think "a bit" is an accurate description of how much she has "shown herself."
But you're right that just because people don't like it doesn't make it wrong. There are plenty of other reasons why it's wrong. :P
Uhmmm..... After seeing wrecking ball once i was grossed out. I don't plan on seeing again. I didn't plan to see her vma performance either and i don't plan on watching that either. And loving your ody doesn't mean flashing it around because thats gross. No one cares that you love your body so you don't go off flaunting it like its an A on a paper. I'm pretty sure theres such a thing as bwing too much of yourself because people we tend to be wierd. What she did is too much and too far. You wanna stop being called a slut? Then stop looking and acting like one. Its just not okay. Find something less gross to do please.
Are you still going on about this? She dresses like a slut in public and that's why we're judging her. It's a natural thing for society to judge people. Judging others is the way to keep them in check so they don't do any bad decisions, or at least learn from their previous decisions. Every decision has its consequences and being judged is one of them. Don't think that people who do drugs and/or wear slutty clothes aren't judged. They are judged by other people. They aren't judged by anonymous people on the internet, but they are judged by people they know personally, which I think is worse. Hell, people around you judge you when you change your hairstyle or take ugly shoes! Why shouldn't we judge her for being slutty?
In fact I bet you're judging us right now for having a different opinion. I mostly like your comments but now you're just being hypocritical.
Of course everyone judges. The point is that that is not okay. No one has the right to judge someone else, to decide what is right or wrong for/about them. Just because everyone judges and no one seems to be able to help themselves doesn't make it okay. And I'm not judging you for having a different opinion because that would be stupid. I can't help your opinion, just like you can't help what Miley does. After all, I used to think the way you do but then I learned to be a bit more open minded and to not get my panties wadded every time a celebrity did something provocative. It doesn't matter to me what she or anyone else does because it doesn't concern me. That's the problem. People are too often judged about things that really shouldn't matter to anyone else. Does it really affect your life one way or the other what Miley does? Its not like she committed a murder or anything, she was dancing. Just because you don't agree with someone doesn't make them a bad person.
It does seem unfair to judge people whose lives don't concern yours, but could you imagine if we all went "We shouldn't judge each other, never ever because it is wrong."? The world would go batshit crazy. People would become more and more arrogant because they'd think that whatever they do, we won't judge them. They'd try to push the limits, how far we go to ignore them, and some time later, we would be trying not to judge murderers, because "just because you don't agree with their decision to kill someone doesn't make them a bad person". There is also law, of course, but that doesn't cover everything and doesn't always make sense...(to be continued)
...I'm sure you've met people who lacked common sense, but couldn't do anything about them, because they didn't do anything punishable by law. That is actually my point. If we all blindly followed the law, the world would be full of lawfully clean scumbags. People would have no morals but we couldn't say anything because the law didn't find it wrong. That's why we judge each other. In my opinion, judging is a way of softly enforcing the moral codex, which is far more perfect than our made up laws. Following the morals is more important than following the law, despite what the authorities say. I don't know if you noticed, but I feel like the world is losing this common sense, because we aren't judging
TL;DR: Judging people, as unfair as it seems, is just a way of keeping the moral codex in check. Without it, the world will be full of idiots with no respect or common sense whatsoever. When we're judging Miley, we're just trying to keep her from making more bad decisions. Is that so bad?
I woule also add that if you see someone engaging in behavior that you know is risky or harmful, and you don't say anything, you're being selfish. That's it. It's not "respect", it's apathy.
Oh good for you, I hope you're not mad because she used that quote because anybody can even if she does make bad choices every once in a while. She's learning, she's growing, she'll be the master in no time no time at all
The thing is people focus so much about all the bad things famous people do. What if she just donated money? Nobody cares. But we point out every bad decisions someone does because they are famous. Last time I check she isnt a robot. She makes mistakes just like other people.
She isn't a terrible person. She's just made some shitty decisions as of late. In her attempt to rise further into stardom she has made drastic changes seen by many as both demonic and demeaning. Her campaign is fueled by a desire for attention. And you know what? She's succeeding. Because what are we doing? Talking about her.
I'm sorry I didn't compromise my morals in order to ascend the social ladder. Drugs, sex, and her licentious lifestyle make her a terrible person she has limited morals and therefore limited credibility. Fame is irrelevant I don't jut how successful my life is my the number of dollar bills in my pockets.
What makes you think you have the right to judge her? So she does drugs and has sex. Plenty of other people do. Why aren't you out hounding them? She can do whatever she wants with herself. Just because she's not so innocent anymore doesn't mean she has no morals. I'm not a fan of her music or anything, but you are being way to hard on her. What she does is her own business and you have no right to decide whether or not it's wrong.
She does drugs? Whatever. She has sex? So what. It's her life and bad decisions are a part of everyone's life. But she invokes this behaviour in others by openly doing all the stuff in her videos. She doesn't have to play innocent anymore and I understand it must have been a relief for her, but it's irresponsible to just switch behaviour so quickly when you know how big your influence on children is.
I don't care she's doing drugs or sleeps with people. I am critical because she brags about it and invokes it in other people, especially when she used to be a role model.
