I make it by taking a 1 quart pitcher, filling it with water, put two family sized tea bags in, put it in microwave for 11 mins, pour into a 1 gallon pitcher with two cups sugar. That, my foreign friends, is southern sweet tea.
I have an American friend and, when the subject of my British-tea-drinking-ness came up and I asked how she makes tea, she said... I don't even know if I can bring myself to say it...
"IN THE MICROWAVE." And I just kind of, gah.
You guys aren't doing it right. You heat the water in the microwave like a normal American and then put the cocoa/teabag in the hot water. You don't microwave the water and contents together. Noobs.
Lol, I think the only way to make cocoa is to mix after heating the water- at least to my knowledge. Some times I'll stick some marshmallows in and nuke it again for a few seconds, but for any other hot beverage I use a coffee pot. Kind of a steel kettle, I guess :-)
Wait, wait, wait
So these kettles aren't usually on stove tops? Or whistling? ?
When you say "kettle" I assume tea pot- a thing that goes on the stove top then whistles loudly when your water is boiling...
what other ways are there?
The electric ones that plug in and you fill it, put it on the stand and it boils, no stove required. They're a staple to every office or work place aha
Aha I'm so surprised that these aren't as common in America? That's so weird ! I mean I know there are culture differences but some you just don't expect aha
