And I think the best part about that episode is that it wasn't only about the couple being gay. They actually had other personality traits other than being gay.
I was talking to some girl who doesn't support gays, and she kept ranting about how it was wrong and their teaching kids bad things. I wanted to slap her not because she has something against gays but because she thought that showing gays was teaching kids bad things. You need to learn you can't hide from that kind of subject.
For gods sake, I hate it when people say it's bad to expose children to gay couples. Media exposes them to thieves, murderers, kidnappers, I even played a Nintendo game with prostitutes in it before! Why is all that okay, but they can't know about gay people?
Yeah well if children are allowed to be taught about dangerous people who are a threat to society why aren't they allowed to be taught about gay people who have done nothing to harm society?
It depends on how they're being taught. Simple exposure is inevitable, but if they're being indoctrinated to believe it is okay, that can be an issue. It's not wrong for parents to not like it when other people force opinions they don't approve of on their kids. Granted, if those parents also buy their kids a copy of Grand Theft Auto, their priorities are screwed up.
Well I remember watching the Lilo and Stitch show as a kid and it had two characters in it that were thieves and for the most part considered good guys, so it's happened before that a kids show has shown something bad as somewhat good...
Crash: "Why is all that okay, but they can't know about gay people? "
Republican sexual repression (or more commonly, the cultivated appearance of), goes a long way to explain issues like this.
The episode aired the other day. Honestly, it made me so happy to see that a company as influential and widely known as Disney decided to incorporate a gay couple on their channel. I looooved it!
I found a clip if it on YouTube. I love how good they were about it, they treated it as tough it was just a regular thing, and as though it was just there for the sake of he joke about the parents arguing over what the little girls mothers name was. I am very proud of Disney for incorporating such a relationship with out having to make an episode about people figuring out how to behave normally about it (like they do with episodes with people with disabilities in them)
Just to on YouTube and look up "good luck Charlie gay couple", I'd give you the link but when I've sent people on the Internet YouTube links before they don't always work because of the whole "certain videos only work in certain countries" thing
Why do some people believe gay relationships are wrong, you don't fall in love with somebodies genitals, you fall in love with who they are as a person. The only thing that clouds everybody from being Bisexual or Pansexual in my opinion is lust and should something as sacred as marriage really be judged by how much lust you feel for a gender.
Homosexuality is against my religion (Christianity), but being hateful to anybody based on their sexual orientation is the name of religion is disgusting and wrong. We all deserve love and kindness from each other, and for a while, gays were getting a lot of hate from people. While I cannot say that I am for a gay couple on a children's show, I am glad the the hate that used to come to homosexuals is seemingly dwindling.
Come on. Being gay is unnatural. If it was, two women could naturally have a baby together, or two guys could have a baby. But you can't. It doesn't work
i don't get the Disney Channel, so i wouldn't know, the impression from the text is that after consultation, a diversified gay couple is two white chicks.
Just because they are both white doesn't mean anything, if all you can see is the colour of their skin not the fact that this represents a huge social shift in society then I feel sorry for you. Whether they were black, white, asian or Hispanic or freaking purple it would still be a good thing for children's television and is likely to influence so many people decisions about the LGBT community.
i understand that, i got no problem with diversity, I live in Australia, I'm half Filipino and half australian, my ex is Turkish, my other ex before her was African. I think it's a good thing for them to show a loving gay couple in a positive way, i was just perplexed as to why call it diverse when it's not really, down vote me if you wish, i'm just expressing an opinion
Oh look, a guest who doesn't agree with something but is too lazy to write more than one word to express their disliking of it.... Gotta love those guests....
