I had the same experience with a Bill Nye post that had 127 comments. 120 of them were some random conversation. This is supposed to be some kind of community, shouldn't there be some kind of chat system for users?
I don't think it's all people with stars. There are about what, forty people with stars, I can name maybe ten of them off the top of my head- six because I see them on posts a lot, and four because I remember the content of their messages or posts. I'd have to look up the list to figure out all of them.
No one is saying to not be friendly, and talk.... Just make it at least about the picture... Want to have a full on conversation? Go to kik, exchange emails, phones... Many options
It's just a group of maybe six- don't you just skip over their posts? If I know there is going to be some hardcore "shipping" or such talk I move on. It is annoying when it springs up in the middle of relevant post conversation, but what can you do- they are like 10-14. That's what kids their ages does, right?
I didn't mean it negatively, people get angry at others on here and forget that there are a wide range of ages- a young adult would not normally yell at a 12 year old for chatting with others about their crushes, would they? Stepping back and taking some perspective on the people behind the names was what I was suggesting.
Bro, we can see your comment chain- we shouldn't insult others while typing about our own deep need for porn on the same account, should we? I'd tell you to go fuck yourself, but... You know, you are with the porn and all. Stop taking your frustrations out on others and may be switch hands for the night.
Hello, all. I have a question. Obviously people disagreed when I said that nobody on here really thinks of themselves of an "FS celebrity." So who do you think does this? Just curious...
If you've made a post referring to you funsubstance self, your funsubstance "relationship," your "haters on here," your departure of the site, your arrival back to the site, or any reference to yourself as any type of royalty or deity- king, queen, or otherwise- you might have delusions of funsubstance grandeur.
And you are a lovely person- personally I haven't seen anything that would make anyone feel cross towards you. So please don't dwell on all this because you have a star.
Okay, just because you make a post about leaving or coming back doesn't mean you think you are a celebrity. Maybe you have friends here that you want to let know you are coming back or leaving.
That is a good point, I meant more of the dramatic soap opera storm offs that were popular for a while- but don't get me wrong, everyone has a right to be dramatic or call themselves a king or poodle of substance if they wish- but I could see how others take it as being overpowered with inside jokes. And thank you Lace- I would if I was on enough
I don't know, some people do it because on there are some posts saying "Admit something nobody knows about you" and it talks about suicide. People on here try to help out one another, which is why it's a good community. We enjoy talking to one another because who knows, some of the words we may be typing in acknowledgement could be saving their lives. Some only post their "farewells" just to ensure that nobody thinks that they may have committed suicide; because I personally, remember their usernames and truly think about them and wish the best for them. So some just do it to assure us they're okay, just that they're gonna be gone for a while and not to worry.
Just so you know. I talk to people I met here in funsubstance. But I do it in a different place, such as kik, Skype email etc. No one is saying to not care about other people. All we are saying is this isnt the place... It's like wanting to have a conversation at a library where college kids are trying to study.... You guys can talk and cheer each other up... Just at the right place.
Mrssparklez, of course in cases where the picture is related to suicide or self-harm or where someone states that they are going through it in the comments, I believe we as a community should be there for them with our support. However, that is not the issue at hand. We are talking about personal conversations about for example shipping (when it is not related to the post), personal stuff like "How are you, guess what I did today" or those stupid (sorry, but they are) conversations about which users on fs are "couples", "queens" ect.
Well yes, I understand that part. I was just trying to clarify the other things up. Also, I know I'm one of the people who are a part of those conversations, but I'm trying to change myself, but I still think it's rude to not respond to someone trying to have a conversation. Thanks for the insight. We all have our opinions, and I respect that. I'm just trying to do it for the sake of the website.
Im sorry if I offended you just now, Sparklez. I didn't mean for it to be offensive, but judging from the comments and dislikes I guess it came off that way. I have a hard time truly expressing my opinion seeing my first language is Norwegian, and it can result in comments that seem a bit harsh. So sorry.
No, I didn't take it in any form of offence, you're just expressing your concerns, and that's how you solve conflicts, and I truly respect you for that. It just seemed as if I was being addressed directly, so I wanted to respond. I'm glad you've expressed your opinions, because hopefully this issue should be solved some time in the near future.
Conversations going on in posts is perfectly fine. That's what a comment section is for anyway.
Random shipping comments, random "how are you" out of no where, seriously? Random comments not even slightly related to the post that turn into conversations between 4 people? Not okay. I mean keep in mind others who follow the posts comments. We are getting useless notifications.
Honestly it was cool at first, when everyone was being super cool to each other, but it's getting too much and annoying, imagine the thousands of people having to read totally random comments on a daily basis. Why involve thousands of people in a few random people's lives? Look at how many likes this post has gotten because of a few people's actions. Just my 2 cents.
No point trying to rationalize things to those few delusional people, they will never get it even after the upvotes vs downvotes have spoken. In their minds they are the only people on this site.

What I want to know is who are these people? And if you think I am one of these people, if so; I am sorry?
I dont think mentioning names would help anyone, the users involved would most likey take great offence and it wouldnt be pretty.. I think they know who they are.
Lace, I kinda think of you all tangled up in this shipping business. But you are a popular commenter so I'm guessing people are just gonna assume you do that or stuff. Sooo, I'm not saying I don't like you. You're hilarious. But I think having a star for commenting comes with a price
Right, no-one has said that it isn't me when I asked, so I guess I am one of those people. I am not offended, I just hoped you would just tell me straight up. I guess I'm sorry and I will try not to have irrelevant conversations on funsubstance.
Please don't downvote me, but I think this post says it all. These comments could be the downfall of funsubstance. I don't mind when the comments are funny and relate to the post. But random convos? Sorry that's just my opinion...
I used to be a user on this site so I know those feels when you have like 77 notifications on funny posts yet it's just people talking about their life. I feel like I've seen this website transform. Yes people are nicer (which is nice) but I think people are just way tooo sensitive. They can't handle downvotes and yah. I hope I didn't offend anybody but that's all I have to say
