I think the point is that the meal looks nearly identical to the day it was purchased...save the pickle. No mold, no rotting, no change...

It's all about the humidity. Many foods in a dry environment will do this while all foods in a damp environment will rot.
Despite what you may think or say about McD's practices, this is an unfair and biased display.
