I believe girls should have a choice, but not as an excuse or back door for their stupidity and irresponsibility. So the guy did have a point. He may not have finished his point, but nevertheless. If carrying or delivering a baby would seriously harm or kill the female, or was produced by rape, then those are very valid reasons for an abortion. I don't believe men of high political status should be taking away the rights of a girl just because they can. Nobody wants to see, or likes the idea of the death of a living being. But would it be better than a life of resentment or possible abuse that may come with it? No matter what, a choice should be there. When and for what it should be used for (circumstances) is what should be debated.
I saw on another fs post that some people thought that who ever got the girl pregnant should not be allowed to leave her because the guy can just go off and not live with the concequences whereas the girl must live with it for their whole lives.
I´m a girl and I must say he was right: if the girls did it ,with good will, then they must accept the responsabilities. Killing a human being is really bad especially an unborn child. If you want to open your legs just for fun, think twice.
I partly agree (and I'm also a girl btw), I mean abortion only makes girls think that they can be careless because somebody's gonna fix it for them, but on the other hand, guys should wear condoms and "if a guy is stupid enough not to wear one in the first place" (quoting the post), all the responsibility and consequences still fall on the girl, which is unfair. Also the guy in the post delivered his opinion in such a mean and arrogant way that even I would probably rage.
I'm pro choice in all cases, IMO an abortion is better than forcing a child into the world that may be resented, abused, unable to be properly taken care of due to the parents not having the money or maturity, etc.
However, one thing thats always bothered me is how pro choice arguments are always "its her body so its her decision" which I'm fine with. She DOES have to carry the baby for 9 months, so she should make the final decision. However, the guy really has no say whatsoever in it. Sure, he can talk with the girl and maybe convince her to change her mind and get(or not get) an abortion, but the decision is still ultimately in her control. If the woman has sole responsibility for the decision, shouldn't she have sole responsibility for getting pregnant? Not saying she should or shouldnt, just saying if the woman is the only person that can decide, isn't it all up to her to be responsible for what goes inside her?
Although my question is, what if a huge majority of the reason for her being pregnant was her own carelessness,? Like in a book I read the male character was going break up with her but on the day he was going to break up with her,she dropped the bomb on him she was pregnant. He asked how it happened because she constantly insisted she was on the pill so he didn't have to you a condom, well it turns out she only used the pill a few times. ... and throughout the book because he had plans for his future and wanted get to get an abortion everyone was angry at him.
