True. I always think of it as If lesbians and gays want to be treated equally to heterosexuals, they should really know what equal means. Straight people are criticized everyday, why would others not criticize people that are not straight but continue to do so only with straight people? That's not equality. That's thinking one group of people doesn't deserve to be criticized but it's okay if another group of people are.
This whole issue arose from a sex joke he made with Seth Macfarlane over the senate Candide Christie O'donnel. Not hating on the post, just want to add some perspective.
I could really care less about what jay leno has to say, and it could be considered a "double standard", but the reason why it is an issue is because it seems like every time a female is a candidate for a government office, a lot of people (definitely not just jay leno) only make comments on their sexual desirability or "hormones" or bullshit like that. I don't think its fair that jay leno is being made into a scape goat but I also don't think its fair that one of the headlining questions regarding Hilary Clinton's run for presidency is whether or not she is "too old looking" to become president or if Cindy Loo Hoo is fuckable enough to be elected as mayor of tinsel town. Basically its fucked up that people are voting for women based on their cup size rather than their actual political opinions or leadership abilities.

I totally see and agree with your point, but if this is the joke that started it, I could not give less fucks. I mean, anti-masturbation? Come on...
I'd look further into her, but I'm 90% sure she's all hardcore "Christian" values, and no actual leadership ability or desire to serve the public beyond her own fellow churchgoers.
Uh uh, the difference here is consent. Ellen didn't do that without it, yet there's no excuse for making crude comments about women who didn't ask for it. People love Ellen because she's empowering and shows the importance of consent, not because she brings men on the show to strip and not even because of her sexuality. There's nothing inherently wrong with sexualizing some one as long as they consent to it, but if they don't it's objectifying and hurtful. Why is it so difficult for people to grasp the concept of consent??? Smh...
