19 BRITISH billions (1 million million) but 19 AMERICAN trillions but the American (1 billion = 1000 million etc.) is more commonly accepted now. Even with people like me who stick strong with British stuff and am very wary about Americanisation.

Official American billions are the universal billions but like the Shilling, foot, yard etc. people will still relate to it like that
