They probably could've used a better example for math, because the Pythagorean Theorem is actually very useful

It's good to be well rounded, and the Pythagorean theorem is one of the basics of Euclidian geometry. Regardless of whether or not you are going to use it, you should still know it. That's like saying, "I'm an engineer, when am I going to use proper grammar and spelling?".

I wasn't saying we shouldn't learn it I'm simply pointing out that it's not a major part of most peoples' jobs so they shouldn't spend a whole 2 weeks teaching it to us

That's what your parents are supposed to teach you. Schools doesn't teach you how to fold your laundry either.

I seriously think that doing taxes, how to vote, how to read a ballot, balance a check book, anything that comes up as an adult, should be taught in a home ec class.

My school doesn't have a home ec class though. But, I do think there should be a class that is not necessarily home ec but more a life skills course that teaches you that stuff like that

All you really need to accomplish these in high school is a civics and an accounting class

Whiny fucking bitches. I use the Pythagorean theorem weekly at work. Your family needs to have some input in your upbringing.
