I don't know, I tend to get turned off by any over sexualization of any character, male or female. It's more pronounced with female characters, but the way male characters look in a lot of comics is just as absurd. Then again, they are comic books and essentially fantasy stories.
You can make a girl beautiful without showing her boobs quite that much. I get what you're saying and it's true for the most part but a lot of the time it's not necessary to draw women in such ridiculous poses.
I don't mind female comic/video game characters having an unrealistically good body and being pretty. Most male heroes are unrealistically ripped and handsome too, after all. What I do mind, however, is that male characters get to wear armor that looks badass AND covers their entire body, thus being also useful and realistic, while female characters run around in iron lingerie or super tight latex suit and high heels (as pointed out in the post). Not only it looks useless and dumb, but also the awesome design the male version of the armor has gets lost in order to compress it into the smallest space they can without being rated R or sued for nudity (which can be accessed by mods anyway). Also, the poses and animations they make for female characters to make them look hotter are incredibly ridiculous and sometimes really annoying.
if someone made a video game where the girls had fully functional armor that still looked good then many people would play it. adventure quest has those outfits. girls look almost identical to boys except for the hair and chest and they both have fully functional armor and mage robes. however this does not mean you should play adventure quest because it is ridiculously grindy and it takes about 10 hours of pressing the same button once a minute to actually be a high enough level to do anything
I've never played it and I probably won't play it for very long if I ever try since it doesn't sound very good (thanks for the advice btw). However, I'm glad that some developers figured out that exposing cleavage, butt, belly and legs doesn't make for a very good defense. People in Bioware have also figured this out already. One of the reasons I enjoy their games, such as Dragon Age and Mass Effect, is that the male and female versions of the armor are usually almost identical and women are as respected as men. I fucking love these games :D
No offense, but "hm....should we make actual armor for women because there are a few that really dislike skimpy armor and will play our game? OR should we make super skimpy armor because then lots of horny teenage boys will buy our game specifically for that?"
I understand woman armor in most games is unrealistic, personally I hardly notice it unless its very extreme (I had to go look back at Dragon Age and Mass Effect, even though I played both of them quite a bit). However, the number of people that WONT buy a game because the female characters have skimpy armor is next to nothing compared to the people that WILL buy it, because some hot skimpy female is on the cover or in the commercial. There's a reason for the saying "sex sells"
Well she is a cartoon anyway, so it's not like any woman will ever look like her. I say go to town .

This is a pretty good post. Lately the astouding ignorance people on this site have had towards feminist has been depressing , but these are well reasond arguments.
I guess I should have realised that some people would take offense to the term "Feminazi" so allow me to rephrase. Shall we play spot the "overly zealous, rude, bigoted, radical, militant, third wave feminist?" (Doesn't have same ring to it though does it. XD.) And Guest I apologize if I have somehow insulted you and kindly request that you do not take my actions as a reflection of the Church as a whole, as we are a diverse group of individuals with various views and behaviors.
I think the thing is that you're acusing someone of being "rude, radical" when the only one is actually you. None of the previous comments or the post is "rude or militant" in any way.
Correct famousone. My original post was intended as a joke such as the "spot the vegan" that often appears on posts concerning the consumption of meat such as bacon (Mmmm, Bacon XD.) But it seems as if the joke has either fallen flat or somehow been deemed offensive, so my apologies. And before anyone asks, I actually support the feminist movement as a whole, just not the vocal minority that has emerged in the third wave. Hence the use of the term "Feminazi" to differentiate this small group from true feminism.
