It happens almost as much as the other way around.
A lot of women claim they felt threatened and lashed out in defence (when it actually gets reported) and get away with it.
Equality my arse.
No one ever listens to jokes about about hitting women and says 'I'm sure it was light hearted' like that matters. Btw my mood is fine. I'm not going to start caps locking and insulting people. I know people get really aggressive about these issues but I don't see that as an effective way to talk about these sorts of issues.
Also if your agreeing that we should treat people equally then are you also saying its okay to joke about hitting women? I don't mean to corner you or anything. I'm legitimately curious.
The reason most cases of men getting abused go unreported is because they are embarrassed. Why? Because men have created an image of themselves to be strong and women to be weak. They feel like if they get abused by a women they are not masculine. Now I am not saying either gender should be abusive towards each other or neither is it right but getting abused regardless of your gender needs to be reported.
They aren't embarrassed, they get shamed, and often get in legal trouble themselves.
What do you mean 'men have created an image of themselves to be strong and women to be weak'? Why would you assume that men did this? Have you ever heard the saying 'Men's great weakness is the perception that they are strong and women's great strength is the perception that they are weak'?
This is probably just a personal bias but it sounds to me like you're giving the responsibility for reporting the abuse to the victims but we don't really do that to women. We give endless support to the battered wife but to the battered husband we heap endless contempt. We turn it into a comedy and show it on TV for everyone to laugh. Is it any wonder that women feel they can get away with domestic abuse? Because they can and they do.
What I meant to say is they and also the media have made an image that they are superior. I mean women were oppressed for years not being able to vote, own property and other reasons. I don't think any gender should be abusive towards another at all.
I don't think either gender should hit the other. Girls think that because guys can't hit girls that it gives them the right to hit guys and get away with it. That's so unfair. If anything guys should be entitled to self defense from abusive woman. Everyone is entitled to defend themselves. This coming from a girl
Well um she's still biologically a woman though I wholeheartedly concur to the fact that a woman that hits a man can hardly deem herself a proper soul, as a woman myself.
