But it can teach some young impressionable girls that it's okay to change everything you are for someone else....and that it's okay to marry a man you just met...
As a transgender I identify a lot with the little mermaid. Everyone says she chsnged who she was to fit into society, or to get the man she wanted. But I think she was already there, she didn't change, she just gave the final step to become what she always wanted to be.
But if you want to change, I feel that it is acceptable to do so. As long as you are deciding to change who you are for your own good, not other people's.
