I'm an American and I like watching scuence documentaries with this one English dudes voice (he did nat geo planet earth), whenever we watch a documentary in science class I hope it's him, I get really pissed for some reason if its not

Planet Earth was David Attenborough.
As a 26 year old English man I can say all of these are true. Especially the girlfriend not being able to make a decent brew.
Its a deal breaker.
I'm British and I don't want to succumb to British stereotypes. But, seriously, making a GOOD cup of tea is NOT just boiling water and adding tea bags. You have to work HARD to get a good delicious beverage the way we do it!
Sorry, old phone. Can't reply directly!
Its not just boil water, add tea. Its a science.
Here's how you make good English tea. A builders brew, as it is known.
1. Water should NOT be boiling, boil the kettle and leave it a few minutes.
2. Add your tea bag, and sugar as you like.
3. Pour hot water in. Stir strongly, but not for too long. (Over agitation, especially squeezing, release tannins that will add a dry aftertaste. Also found in red wine).
4. Leave to brew. Between 30 secs and 3 minutes depending on taste. Any more and it will stew. (I go for about 80 seconds.)
5. Squeeze tea bag against side of mug. Once. Firmly but not strongly.
6. Ditch bag, add milk, stir, drink that beautiful brew.
Try and see, its the mutts nuts.
Teapots are a whole different story.

That was a beautifully soothing piece of literature. Thank you.
I add milk to the mug to the desired level before popping in the teabag and adding hot water. This way I can tell how strong the brew is from the colour.
We do a 2 minutes silence on remembrance sunday. The whole country practically shuts down. Radio stations do it. Tv channels do it. Cars even pull off the road. Those who gave their lives for ours, must always be remembered.
As a filthy colonist, I must confess that many of these apply to me. The "biscuits" and shopping ones really hit home, in fact. A serious pet peeve of mine also has to do with shopping etiquette in general.

My best friend has it on toast, I can't be near him at breakfast.
