No, not really. The majority of people intentionally starve themselves, and are told to starve themselves, to look thin enough. I don't think this person is talking about people who are naturally skinny. To stop the shaming of the pressure on women to starve themselves is the same as saying that being overweight is okay.
Naturally skinny people don't have bones and ribs showing. If they have the frame for it, bones don't stick out because that is how they are supposed to be...most of the time anyways. There is always an exception to the rules.
Absolutely, of course there are always people of exception to the rule. The only two people I know that are as skinny as pictured on this post had sever anorexia and another disorder that sped up her metabolism so much that she could not gain weight. The thing that annoys me is that people are looking at this as an attack on people who are naturally thin, instead of what it really is, which is an attack on people who are NOT naturally thin (which is the large majority of girls, and guys too!)
It's not an attack on people that are naturally skinny. The point they're making is that the majority of people starve themselves to achieve that look, and that is not okay. If girls were able to be appreciated in the media and in industry whatever size they were, then it would be okay to promote skinny as well, because it would be natural skinny alongside the more common natural pudge. But we don't live in that world, and so awareness has to be spread.
On a pet/animal it's the human's responsibility to make sure it's not starving. However, with most occasions it's the human's responsibility to keep themselves healthy. So on an animal it would be sad and abusive.
I don't know of any guys that find seeing all the ribs on a girl attractive. I'm not talking about seeing a hip bone or collarbone, or seeing them stretch and you can see their ribs some, but ACTUAL "shes so skinny you just see all their ribs all the time", since that is what they are talking about in animals. Thats not attractive at all.
Doesn't work that way, bub. People in the fashion industry are constantly told to lose weight/they're too fat. You won't see a modelling agency saying 'its your body do what you like' they'll be saying 'lose weight or no money for you, despite the fact that its as unhealthy as being too fat'. So see, we have to fight for it to be okay to be normal, if anyone knows what that means anymore.
umm maybe because you can be healthy and have some of these bones showing. I am not commending anorexia but you can be healthy sized and still have some of these showing, so I think this is kind of flawed. Also, in some, but not all animals, they have body fat(to keep them warm) or fur covering these at most times, unless they are seriously underweight. It is not quite the same thing in some cases.
