In elementary school I used an interrobang in a writing assignment, and I got marked off on the essay for using "improper punctuation". When I told my teacher that I knew it was real because I had seen it in books, she was all "mhm, I'll believe it when I see it." So I went out and found one in a book, but she wouldn't give me the credit because she didn't consider it an "intelligent" enough book. This gives me hope that little me was right.
