Yep our encephalization quotient is larger than the bottle nose dolphin :)

The reason the dolphin's brain is so large isn't because they're bigger than us, but instead because a large portion of it (almost 40%) is used for echolocation. While dolphins are very smart animals, we're still on top for now :)

What's impressive is not the size, but the level of folding we see. Higher functioning animals show more brain folds than lower ones, and so is currently thought to indicate intelligence. The fact that a dolphin's brain shows the second most amount of folding, following only humans, is super cool!

Yes the hemispheres are still connected.

Ah. It just appears then that it is much much smaller in comparison to the hemispheres. That would be cool if their hemispheres worked independtly.
