When a cat is picked up by their scruff, they know to go limp. So for you "animal rights activists" no it is not painful to the cat(unless you grab them the wrong way)

So it is to do with how cats carry their kittens, thanks.
As a vet assistent I want a clip like that. Would make my job so much easier. But I'm sure morst customers would think of it as animal cruelty. They allready start complaining when I place my hand like that clip
I thought this might interest you if you haven't seen it yet:
> "Researchers determined that the clipping technique, dubbed "clipnosis" or pinch-induced behavioral inhibition, relaxes most cats as long as the clips are placed before a cat has a chance to become too agitated or upset."
> "In the study, 30 of 31 cats responded positively the first time clips were placed on the scruff of their neck."
> ""Cats generally seemed more content, sometimes even purring, and less fearful during veterinary procedures when clips were used instead of restraint by some other means," Buffington said."

I don't what its called but in theory you could do that to people too its a technique used to cut of nerve impulses from the brain, you also don't feel a thing.
Although, cutting off nerve impulses is a pretty serious thing. It's near impossible to do without injury. The Vulcan death grip you see in the shows and movies is just a way of cutting off the blood flow to the brain.
