I think...I know why...
This is just me, but I don't think us guys really close doors to relationships. We just leave some wider open than others. Sometimes much more open to try and get a hint across (which usually never works). I don't think your guy closed the door on you, I think it was always unlocked and cracked open a bit. You just opened it more and stepped through.

When we open our doors, somebody always slams them shut, so we lock them to prevent from getting our fingers caught in the hinges.

Also girls are very stupid and can't see someone flirting with them unless pointed out. At least, that's how I am.

To be honest, the relationship I'm in now is the first relationship I've ever had and I'm 15, so the years of waiting while my friends all had significant others lead me to leave my doors wide open, but only for the right guy. I feel as though most females leave their doors open too, but only to an extent where our emotional-guard isn't in jeopardy. (We let that guard down pretty much as soon as someone earns/starts to earn our full trust)

So THAT'S why you can't see our open doors. You closed it on your side. You can't be expected to see through a solid door huh...
I suppose it's up to the men to knock then?
