But before the lights went out forever, Francis came back in. 'Grandpa, Hobbes said he had something to tell you before you go'. As he placed Hobbes beside his best friend for one last time, Hobbes whispered: "Hail Hydra"
My favorite comic. I would have ended the story much different with the exception of Calvin and Susie marrying..that was a given. Calvin and Hobbes will never die..not for me anyway.
Oh, I found a quote similar to the one mentioned.
GANDALF: End? No, the journey doesn't end here. Death is just another path, one that we all must take.
no no no no no no, im now crying in the corner of my room, my sister keeps asking whats wrong, so I point to the computer, she reads and then she joins me.
I like this story, I hope this is the first comic where Hobbes lost his best friend and has to move on to make new friends, and in the end he saw them leaving him behind. Then comes the modern world part where kids are more interested in technology now more than a dumb old stuffed tiger. Hobbes is now forgotten by the great grandchildren of Calvin and is now thrown in the dump, he was in complete silence remembering the good ol' days with his friends as he drew nearer into the incinerator. This is the last time we hear of Hobbes.
Why did you make this feelsubstance? TT.TT

To the well organized mind, death is just another adventure.
What hood said.
(Upon pondering death) "Wow, that seems like an awfully big adventure"
-Peter pan, the boy who never grew up.
