That's when it starts to look great. Some people pay thousands of dollars to have copper artificially aged just for that look.

I think it looks terrible. My university had a library clad in corroded copper, total eyesore.

Well like most things it's all in what a person likes. They can have the panels treated to resist corrosion but it's expensive and doesn't last long.

True, but there are other cladding materials which look good and last. Corroded copper has become something of an architectural cliché.
