I did this for 2014 because I felt like I had a bad year in 2013 since 3 of my friends died in separate situations and they were all under 9. But I also knew good things happened that year and it made me sad that I couldn't remember them. Now my "good things" jar is so full I can barely put anymore in.

I have a jar of all my best memories from the last couple of years already.

Nice idea. But it could be really depressing if the jar is empty in 2016

Fast forward to next year's New Year's eve: "Oh boy, I'm so excited to remind myself of all the cool stuff I've done this year!" *finds empty jar* *insert prof Farnsworth's "I made myself sad" gif*

I did this in 2013 because I thought 2012 was horrible. I tried to write down one good thing (or more) every day, even if it was something stupid like "The sun made me warm after a cold classroom." I had to get a new jar by May because it was too full. I've learned a whole new appreciation for the little things. I highly recommend this, even if you only do it for a month. (:

I wish I could meet the person who came up with this so I could shake their hand and sacrifice my first born child in their honor
