In America we set our criminals up to fail and to have recurring visits to federal, state, local, or even private prisons. Yes privately owned for profit prisons.
And to add to metalman’s comment here in America we make it nearly impossible for a convicted criminal to ever hold down a stable and well paying job or able to rent a decent apartment. This creates a sad cycle of crime that many never break
