I used to ride those free-fall rides but I was really light and small so when it dropped I flew up in my seat and I swear I would have flown out the top if I hadn't jammed my arms into the shoulder bars.

Well some people dropped their mouthes open and noped out, but my friend who was next to me just said "ohhhhh that's why your seat looked weird!"

On a traditional roller coaster though, you're supposed to be able to ride them without a harness because physics.
