Mostly because down South, our majority is macho religious and conservative republican. Not really anything that has to do with the redneck stereotype. It's just which way the political pendulum swings.
You're right but ask yourself who here has not judged someone in their own life huh?? Its not our place to judge others its nobodys place to judge Im gona try to say this without getting religious and offending someone. But seriously though i wish people would just put aside these petty arguments treat each other like human fucking beings and get along, we all need to learn to love each other inspite of our differences and focus on the similarities.
But if you think about it (according to my knowledge) there is no law making gay marrage legal OR ILLEGAL in texas again not to my knowlege im sure that most of texas just doesnt give a shit. I dont know what its like for you @violence i cant speak for you but thats what ive found.
Actually, texasranger, Texas has a ban on same-sex marriages and has had one for the last 10 years. In fact, just a couple of weeks ago, the entire Texas Republican Party threw a party in celebration of the 10 year reunion of their same-sex marriage ban. They even served wedding cake that said "Congratuations on 10 years!" or something like that. How lovely.
This is coming from a man in Texas, we don't give a shit if you are gay, just don't go prancing around te streets in your gstring like you do in San Francisco
1) This was posted a while ago so this isn't talking about the recent hearing 2) Millions of people just gained rights that they have always deserved so cool it

I COMMENT FROM THE FUTURE, WHERE GAY MARRIAGE IS LEGAL IN ALL STATES!
I live in Texas, and I've found the people from the smaller more rural towns tend to be more conservative and judgmental when it comes to sexuality and religion than the people from larger more progressive towns such as dallas. and its mainly the older more old fashioned people too, most of the teens tend to be more gay accepting in general tbh. thats just my observation. Happy Pride Month y'all!
Just a conservative religious Texan giving his two cents. In my opinion I'm disgusted by the way people treat homosexuals. Sin or not it doesnt matter. The point of christianity is grace amd forgivness. Alot of "christians" love to cherry pick the sins they choose to condemn and thats hypocritical. Hate the sin not the sinner. But they have rights now so good for them. Yay.
Wait, if it's wrong to look down on gay people just because they prefer homosexual sex, isn't it just as wrong to look down on straight people just because they prefer heterosexual sex?
BOOM! And so many 21st century emo hipster media-fed minds were just blown by logic. Quick somebody, go into whiny mode and attempt to defer the point!
No one is looking down on straight people; gay people are just trying to get the same marriage rights as straight people. It has nothing to do with gay people thinking they're better. It's like black people and the civil rights movement- they weren't trying to look down on white people, they were trying to be their equal.
Seriously? For one thing, gay people don't "prefer homosexual sex" any more than straight people prefer "heterosexual sex". It's the way somebody was born, it has nothing, zero, zilch, nada to do with preference. Secondly, I'm pretty sure you're trolling.
Very true- especially for men. Any time a guy shows any sort of emotion or softness of any kind, everyone jumps on the "he must be gay" train. It's ridiculous.

Me: That girl needs to stop.
Everyone Else: He must be a faggot.
Thus, you are forced to come out and then be bullied to suicidal levels.
Wahoo go Texas! , Texas is the best state and fyi we are not all redneck hillbillies, but we do love Jesus don' t hate, don't hate us because you ain't us
I mean sure i think it's ok believe there is a god as long as it doesn't hurt anyone else, but i mean, seriously you all must see that it does do that, so much.
I like that one qoute 'if there is a god he'll have to beg for my forgiveness'

No one is looking down on anyone /because/ theyre gay, but because "their beliefs aren't the same as mine".
Everyone Else: He must be a faggot.
