I'm sure they slowed it down to show how it functions, if it's anything like the spikes it probably deploys in a couple seconds.

But I think a bomb in the "cockpit" would be slightly dampened; I would have put the bomb on the bed so that there's maximum exposure.
Maybe I'm wrong, maybe the bomb in the cockpit creates shrapnel...

As hard as it hit the barrier it would either detonate on impact or render the bomb inactive
