I know people associate certain breeds as being particularly aggressive but its simply the fact that they see an opportunity to become dominant over the others so they will attack their master
It can happen with most dogs not just certain breeds
This is touching, we do so little for them and they still love us so deeply <3 and you are absolutely right regarding breeds, next to where I live two labradors (!) attacked their owners and a child!!! Pit bulls are not my favorite dogs and, yes, deep down I associate them with "high risk"... but with all the breeds you could experience drama!!!
I was being sarcastic, I've had several of the supposedly violent breeds (wolf-shepherd hybrid, Rottweiler-german shepherd mix, pitbull, doberman) and every single one of them were very nice dogs, my last dog (bernese mt dog) could have very easily tore out someone's throat just by rearing up on his hind legs but he would've sooner played lapdog (albeit a nearly 180 pound one) the only mean dogs I've ever encountered were all Chihuahua, and even they were the product of mistreatment by the owners. Now like all animals (or anything capable anyway) any dog can and will attack if provoked.
Sadly they've all passed on as all dogs do, I miss them all very much, especially the bernese and wolf-dog since they both managed to save my life at least once. I believe very much that there are no bad breeds only bad owners!
Oh I'm so sorry!! :( please be patient with me, I'm a bit too enthusiastic about the subject because at the age of 20 I finally got my first personal puppy <3 I feel I'm underdeveloped for my missing childhood
Its all good, I'm getting a new bernese pup in about a week ironically enough this pup is my dogs grandson, I still get excited about getting another dog whenever I do, I'd love another wolf hybrid but I don't think my old house could handle that big of a dog my burnese made the floorboards creak!
And people say pits are bad dogs. The dog isn't bad, the owner is bad. This is another FINE example of how this breed used to be called "America's Nanny Dog". Or something like that. They are fiercely protective of even infants from people they see as intruders. Pits often see their owners as another member of the pack and therefore will protect them. Or roll over and play.
My dog is a pit bull and he is a rescue dog that was found abandoned in a neighborhood that is known for their drugs and alcohol and when we took him home, it looked like he had been beaten and abused and now he is the sweetest dog i have ever had
My pitbull loves bellyrubs and sandwiches(Peanut butter, to be specific)
I once got slapped in front of my dog.
We had to make five sandwiches just to stop him for hurting that man anymore.
My chemistry teacher had 3 pit bulls that were some of the greatest dogs I've had the pleasure of knowing. I would wrestle with all of them and never had any fear of being harmed. The favorite thing for one of them was to drag a tree out of the woods and hang from it while we ran around the yard with the tree on our shoulders. I do miss those shenanigans.
Idk if you guys know this but pitbulls are the best dogs with kids, but their stereotype with the drug dealers who train them incorrectly gives them a bad look.
Don't always work, I had a fire at my house and none of my alarms sounded and they all had fresh batteries and sounded with the test button, if I wouldn't have been home, awake and inside for a change I'd have lost a lot more than a light fixture, book case (with 250 year old book) and a bunch of ceiling tile.
