Not every store does it. The big names like Walmart do of course, but small time stores in small towns don't always.

Whenever I'm in the US, I always start packing my own bags while my parents pay for the groceries, and every time I'm so confused when the guy/girl says "let me help you with that". I'm like, "oh no, I'll manage", forgetting each time that they are actually hired to do that.

We have it in the UK...They always ask if you want help with your packing of if you want to do it yourself. Sometimes there are Scout or Sports teams who do it to raise money for Charity too.

In my country, they also carry your bags to your car and load them into the trunk.
