That's what they are for. They go around serving. They made my fence a few years ago, and also helped my mom start a garden

Had a couple elders help me move into my apartment! They were really nice, we didn't talk about religion or anything crazy. Just about life. They are really really nice people! I'm not a religious person myself but the Mormons I've met don't care about converting you but just being kind to eachother and that's really awesome to me :)

Nice! Particularly I didn't know anya about mormons and I went to see the book of mormons (hilarious play!!) I saw sone mormons outside the theater and got a little anxious I tho they wete protesters or something (I didn't know much about the play if it was offensive or what) they were just handing out cards with information about their religion and they were really nice. I also saw mormons in the audience. I thought it was really cool they can laugh at themselves. many people need to learn how to do that

I'll just say that the Book of Mormon musical is about as representative of Mormons as Hitler is of communism. Not even close. Thankfully so too... that play is filth, imo.

Seriously. I don't understand how anyone can say Mormons are douche bags for being nice. It's not like they are trying to take anything from u or anything, and chances are they aren't going to push u into their beliefs.

We're just easy targets. A video is made making fun of extremist Muslims and the extremist Muslims go crazy and the entire US government apologizes to them. Mormons get a play made making fun of them and they try to make the best of it. We aren't going to go on a killing spree so it's easy to make put us down.

I was helping my bro fix his door in his car and these mormons said, "would you like some help?" We obviously said no because they would try to convert us, and it's annoying. And I don't get it. My brother has a big ass knife on his side at all times cause he got threatened at his house. All the mormons I know personally have been friends, but some of them are real douche bags.

I never said that these particular mormons were douche bags, but my family and I have had some bad experience with mormons. So I put up a front because of all the pain they caused to my grandfather. they kick gays out of their church onto the street and ostracize them. My grandfather was one of them. I played music at one of their weddings, and they didn't even say thank you. I was twelve. And then they have the audacity to put a blown up condom on the antenna of a Volkswagen beetle. some of them are really extreme with their religion too. They think that if you're not mormon, then you're some bad person. they look at me like a killed a baby. I live in Utah, and I'm surrounded by mormons. I get they're trying to do a good deed and all that stuff, but we had it handled.

So all mormons are bad because of a couple bad experiences you've had? That's like saying all black people are stupid because some of them are. I'm not racist, I'm just saying that's the same thing. All I've had were good experiences with them. Especially when they came and cooked because my mom was pregnant and my dad was out of town.

you're right. but it should be a first impression of that certain person, not of an entire religion based on those few people.

a person is a representative of the group they join.

Instantlyme, I never said all mormons were bad. I said "some of them", so learn to read.

Guess I'll join in to get dislikes but don't you guys saying not to judge the group think that in a state like Utah that is largely Mormon might make the general group more pushy and "holy feeling" because there's more people around them making them all feel right. The attitude of the majority could definitely be different than in other states. Also yeah knocking on people's doors trying to convert them is annoying.

From someone who has lived in Utah, I learned that there is a huge difference between Mormon/Utah culture and Mormon religion. Everything that you guys have listed so far comes from Utah culture, which is only indirectly related to the actual religion and the way it teaches people to behave. The difference between culture and religion is really one of the biggest reasons the Church teaches. Leaders are constantly trying to get people to figure out that some of those cultural things are bad and to stop doing them.
