My fandom is LOTR/The Hobbit, and I have an elf running alongside, swinging on lampposts and shooting at pedestrians!! :)> (p.s. that is a dwarf with a beard)
Been here, done that ;)
When I got really bored (flat countrysides, especially), he became really tiny and had to navigate through the pages of the magazine I was "reading".
When I did this I never imagined a little man or even a human. Instead, I imagined a freakishly thin and tall humanoid with razorsharp teeth, pale rotting flesh and yellow eyes that glowed like fire. The description, as I later found out, is similiar to that of a wendigo's. I still do it almost everytime I ride in a car.
It is a little disturbing but it's just one of those odd things that people do. I don't know if it's sheer coincidence that my younger self came up with a creature that comes close to the description of a wendigo or if I saw some show or documentary that depicted one and the image just got stuck in my head but either way I've been doing it almost reflexively since before I even started going to school.
Science says that a high majority of kids did this, but almost none of them mentioned it because they thought it was just a dumb little thing they came up with.
