You have to have a steam account, so what's the point anyway? Buying and finishing pc games without leaving the house, what a great age we live in!

I feel the same way about books. Personally, I like seeing physical stacked up in front of me rather than having them stored in a Kindle. Unfortunately, it's more expensive.

This type of meme only works with books and kindles, as some people prefer paper books over electronic ones because they have a different feeling. With video games, it's still the same whether it's on steam or on a CD, and even if the CD collection looks cool, it's pretty impractical.
