And if a cake company doesnt want to write your message on their cake because it goes against their beliefs, simply by a cake from someone else. No need to scream it from a mountain top.
YEAH! everyone always told me that "oh no! you cant become the ruler of a suppressive dictatorship hell bent on disassembling the world as we know it today!" but now I am so inspired by your words to start my reign RIGHT NOW! thanks for your help!
Yes, because getting a tattoo will inflict profound psychological trauma on children and gay marriage will kill people.
This post is about choices which don't affect anyone except the person making them (with the possible exception of abortion, depending on your views). The message is to stop opposing things "just because you don't like them"; in other words, it's saying that personal preference alone is not a good reason to judge or forbid something. By no stretch of the imagination is it claiming that murder is okay.
In the world, today there are people, millions of them, that are not comfortable around tatoo's and piercing. Believe it or not, those people can and will buy their things elsewhere if it mean they won't have to deal with tatooed/pierced peoples. Employers should be entitled to not hire a person visibly tatooed/pierced if they feel it's going to impact their business.
Before everybody start screaming, I'm a tatooed salesman, but I choosed to have my tatoo put somwewhere not visible when working.
This should not be seen as denying people the freedom to get a tatoo/piercing. But as anything else that you are free to do in life, if you choose to do so, there may be consequences and you should be prepared to deal with them.
Guest is right. These choices don't affect anyone, because all human beings are completely isolated from each other, and one person's choices don't have any impact whatsoever on anyone around them. Studies even show that abortion has no significant effect on the life of the baby.
(Yes, this is dry sarcasm, if you're still wondering).
This applies to some of those things, but by using that logic thats like saying: just because YOU think murder is wrong, doesn't mean you need to force your beliefs! Dont stop that murderer, it's HIS lifestyle choice! And that's how I feel about abortion, sorry. It's still killing a child no matter how much you try to rationalize it, it's preventing a beautiful person from being brought unto the earth because of your own selfishness. If its not your fault your pregnant and can't support it, seek help and give it to a loving family for adoption. DO NOT kill it. Rant over.
The thing that no one understands is the people that approve of things like that, get pissed off with the people that disagrees and says "we're way too judgmental", even if we say our opinion calmly.

You are right. Tolerance runs both ways. As long as I'm not discriminating against you in any way, I'm allowed to have my beliefs without being yelled at.
UNLESS it negatively affects other people. For example, public smoking.
AND YES, I know murdering is fun, but it hurts people's feelings. And their aliveness.
Hey the abortion thing doesn't fit in the with rest in case you guys haven't noticed. I'm not arguing for or against abortion, I'm simply stating that abortion affects the baby as well whereas everything else on this list affects only you.
Don't be fooled by people trying to hide serious ethical dilemmas in amongst slightly similar, less serious arguments in an attempt to win your vote.

If you don't like pedophilia, don't be a pedophile.
