Pretty sure that it's (at least) a misdemeanor to cut off anyone like that most everwhere.

Not just with trucks guys. It was raining recently in a rush hour commute so I decided to leave a bigger following distance so all these dickheads decide that it means they can go in front of me. Uhm, no! That's not how it works
How easy it is to stop one of those trucks is how heavy the load it's pulling is. If it has no trailer or traveling light, it'll take a very long time to be able to stop. The heavier, the easier to stop. (learned from my neighbors son who's a trucker)
